sleep till you're hungry. eat till you're sleepy.

When I've had to work through the night before, I had this theory that if I had enough time to adjust my circadian rhythm, night shifts would actually be a sweet way to work. Get your work done at night, take a little nap, and then have the whole afternoon and some of the evening to get things done and relax. I'm inbetween my 3rd and 4th night shifts of my ER rotation now and I'm realizing that the aforementioned theory is bogus. Yesterday wasn't too bad, but today I woke up at noon and have been feeling nauseous, lazy and downright apathetic. I'm still in my pajamas, and don't think I'll be getting out of them again until I have to go to work again at midnight.Meals get screwed up as well when you work overnight. Today so far I've had 2.5 cookies, a mug of earl grey tea, one package ichiban noodles, one orange and a handful of tortilla chips. Actually, that would pretty much explain how I'm feeling now.
I'm going to go for a walk.
